Transforming the Playground at the Tokmok Orphanage

Old and unsafe playground.

Our newest initiative is to refurbish the playground areas at the Tokmok Baby House, which serves about 100 children ages 0-4. The current grounds are unsafe and unusable. KCF is answering the call from the orphanage director for a new playground. We have been working on this project in stages:

  1. We have first removed the debris and rusty equipment, including filling in an old pool that was unusable to provide more play space.
  2. We have raised funds to install a rubberized playground surface. We have selected a vendor, Ecostep, and will have the surface material installed as soon as the weather warms up enough.
  3. We’re now raising funds to purchase playground equipment. This will help the children’s physical and cognitive development.

Providing New Shelves for Tokmok Orphanage

KCF has responded to the request for help at the Tokmok Orphanage, and we have had 2 new sets of shelves built and installed in the orphanage’s Art Therapy room.
